Dundee United made an encouraging start to their pre-season with a 4-1 victory over Raith Rovers at Starks Park.

Summer signing Noel Hunt opened his account with a brace while Lee Miller also scored twice against the Division Two side.

It took United 34 minutes to make the breakthrough when Miller made the most of Greg Cameron's precision ball.

The second goal was only a couple of minutes away though, as Cameron broke forward again and played another perfect pass to Hunt and fired low into the far corner of the net.

Raith struck back, only four minutes into the second period, through Paul McManus but Miller met Craig Conway's free-kick in the 73rd minute, before Hunt guided substitute Barry Callaghan's cross home in the 79th minute.
