Preston are one of three Championship clubs chasing Dundee United midfielder Mark Kerr, according to reports.
The Terrors want to keep the Scotland B international but with Burnley and Doncaster also in the race, as well as SPL outfits Aberdeen and Hearts plus Leeds and Leicester in League One, the 26-year-old has options this summer.
Tannadice chief Craig Levein told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "I'm not surprised clubs are interested in Mark.
"I've spoken to his agent and would obviously like to do something to make him stay with us, but it all depends."
