Carrascosa remains an option for United PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 30 July 2008

Pablo Carrascosa has returned to Spain, but could still end up back at Dundee United for the new season.

The 21-year-old former Hercules attacker impressed during a recent trial and with Noel Hunt leaving last week manager Craig Levein has some space in his squad.

Spaniard Carrascosa is a free agent, but United now need to discover whether his club will demand compensation and are working through the red tape before they make a final decision on his future.

Levein said: “He's away back to Spain and while he's there we're going to look into things to make sure there's no compensation involved.

“After we find out exactly what the situation is we'll sit down with him and see where to go. So at this stage it's still ongoing.

“Everyone came out of the Barcelona game fine, we've put the lads through a double session and now we're just looking forward to our next match against Plymouth on Saturday.”

Young forward Kevin Smith has joined Raith Rovers on loan and after spending more than a year on the sidelines with a serious knee injury, Levein believes a temporary move to Fife will help him reinvigorate his career.
